The Hull-Kinderhook Fire Protection District Fish and Chicken Fry is 11 am – 2 pm and 4-7 on Saturday, November 8 at the fire station, 320 W. Highway 106, Hull. Menu is fish, chicken, potato salad, baked beans, fried potatoes, assorted desserts. Drinks are coffee, tea, kool-aid and lemonade.
Free will donations accepted. Deliveries available within village limits of Hull or Kinderhook with a minimum $5 donation. For delivery call 217-432-5240. Funds raised go toward purchase of equipment, vehicles, and fire department training.
Barry American Legion will visit area cemeteries Memorial Day, May 26 and will leave the Legion building no later than 9 am. Ceremony at Kinderhook Cemetery is 9:30; Shearer Cemetery at New Canton 10 am; Taylor Martin Cemetery by El Dara 10:30am; then to Barry to march from Lafayette Park to Park Lawn Cemetery; and leave Lafayette Park 11 am.

Pike County Sheriff’s Department is investigating reports of damaged soda vending machines in Hull, Kinderhook, and New Canton. The damage was discovered between April 9 and April 10 where unknown person(s) attempted to gain access to the vending machines. Damage could have taken place during a 2-week period. If you have information or have seen suspicious activity around the vending machines in the aforementioned towns, you are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 217-285-1500. Calls are anonymous and if information leads to an arrest, you will be eligible for a cash reward.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of a Husqvarna 396XP chainsaw from 28910 State Highway 96 in Kinderhook from a tree service vehicle working in the area. The theft was reported on Feb 21 at 3:27 pm.
