The Baylis Fall Festival Committee will be hosting a street dance on Saturday, Sept 14 in front of the Firehouse. Dance will start at 5:30 and will run until either 10 or 10:30.
Food will be served including: curly fries, sloppy joes, corn dogs, funnel cakes, punch, etc. The entire event, including food, is free for all. This is to say “Thank You” to the communities of Baylis, New Salem, & Fishhook for all their support during the Baylis Fall Festival.
On Tuesday, September 10, State’s Attorney Carrie Boyd will speak at 6pm before the regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meeting at the Milton Town Buiding. Everyone is invited to attend and refreshments will be served.
Ready to skate? Well grab your knee pads & get read, Good Times Roll is opening for the new season on Friday, September 6th! Looking for something spooky and different to do? Look no further! Come to the Old Barry cemetery located on the west end of Barry on Friday, September 13 from 7pm to 11pm for a Ghost Walk & Paranormal Investigation. No one under 12 though please.
You will need to bring a flashlight as there is no lighting in the cemetery. This event is sponsored by the General William P. Carlin Chapter, Daughters of the Union 1861-1685. The host is Loren Hamilton, Western Illinois representative of the American Ghost Society.
The Pike County Senior Citizens Resource will be holding their Senior Expo on Thursday, August 22 from 10am to 2pm at the Crossroads Center, 125 W. Jefferson in Pittsfield, IL.
Free Admission, 30+ vendors with cutting edge information, Health screenings, All day entertainment, Free shuttle service, Give-a-ways & door prizes, roast beef dinner with all of the trimmings (served from 11am to 1pm).
