Youth under age of 16 who have passed a hunter safety course are eligible to apply for spring youth turkey season as well as regular spring turkey seasons 3 and 4. Deadline to apply is February 27 for youth seasons. Applicants applying for Youth Turkey Season will need to download an application at: www.dnr.illinois.gov/conservation/IRAP/Pages/YouthTurkeyHunting.aspx and return it to IDNR prior to February 27, 2015. Successful applicants will be notified where their hunting site is located. Hunters also will be given a map and an IRAP permit allowing them to hunt on the specified private property. Youth hunters will also need to get an over-the-counter IDNR youth turkey permit once they receive their IRAP permit.
